Special Collections Public Change Location

The Hanna Holborn Gray Special Collections Research Center reading room is open to all Non-UChicago & UChicago Alumni researchers who wish to consult rare books, manuscripts, or university archives. 

Adjusted Hours starting June 8th-September 25th:

• M, T, Th, & F: 9a-12p & 1p-4:45p
• W: 10a-12p & 1p-4:45p

*Closed for a lunch break from 12p-1p 

Reading Room Hours are:

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 9a-4:45p
• Wednesdays: 10am -4:45p

-Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, confirmed by Special Collections staff. 

-Materials should be requested 1 business day before your appointment. 

If reservations are full, you may add your name to the Reading Room Seats Waitlist.  A Special Collections staff member will contact you if a seat opens up.
