The Hanna Holborn Gray Special Collections Research Center reading room is open to all Non-UChicago & UChicago Alumni researchers who wish to consult rare books, manuscripts, or university archives.
Reading Room Hours are:
9a-4:45p (M, T, Th, F)
10a-4:45p (W)
Appointments will open up 1 month in advance on a rolling basis throughout the quarter.

Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, confirmed by Special Collections staff.

Reservations are required for admittance to the building.

Materials should be requested 1 business day before your appointment.
If reservations are full, you may add your name to the Reading Room Seats Waitlist. A Special Collections staff member will contact you if a seat opens up.
