This session will introduce copyright basics in order examine participants' rights as authors and strategies for managing those rights when publishing. We will review sample journal publishing agreements, reflect on their implications for your own use of your work, and discuss options for negotiating rights with a publisher. In this workshop, we’ll also discuss you can use Creative Commons licenses and the institutional repository Knowledge@UChicago to widen the access and reuse of your work by others.
