Learn how to georeference images using ArcGIS. Georeferencing assigns geographic coordinates to a digital image so that it overlays a real world location. Using this method, you will place historical maps and aerial photography onto modern maps. No GIS experience required. We will begin with an introduction to GIS and the software ArcGIS. Then the workshop will explore how to georeference an image by adding latitude and longitude coordinates and then by using the landscape.
